In unit 3 I rated myslef a 6 in all three areas( physical, psychological, spiritual). I would say for the most part I am still a 6. I am improving daily but it take time for the spychological and physical. Since they work together in how we precieve our self. My goal is to continue exercising, tracking my progress in a journal and for those busy days using e-mail and phone for those days. Then at the end of the day being able to journal helps even more.
As for my spiritual I would have to say I am ar a 7-8. in this area i have made improvements that are practiced daily and learning the meditations has helped my focus and kept the negative to a minimual and the positive at a maximum. When the negative days come I use the meditation skills I learned and bring in the positive and recycle the negative.
Having a goal of good nutrition, exercise and meditation for me these are essential in making positive changes in my life. Learning to relax gives the body the opportunity to heal and recharge for the next day.
Having a healthy mind, body, spirit is essential for me and my practice. I am here to help those who need help. Having a positive attitude and leaving the stress at the door helps me to help who is on the table. I have also recommended meditation to my clients and they are very receptive which helps me when they come in for their next session. Getting in good physical health and having a positive attitude helps in attaining my goals. These are goals that are not to far out of reach. With determination they will be met.

Finial Paper Unit 9
I.
Introduction:
Why is it important for Health and
Wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve
the goals you have for yourself?
As a health and wellness professional it is important to have
spiritually, psychologically, and physically these aspect in your life. Showing the client that being balanced helps
keep harmony, wisdom, confidence and inner peace. Being on a journey in your own life can help
those on the journey of their life. Pour
life experiences can and do help others when they are struggling do to everyday
difficulties.
The area that would like to keep in my life is my daily
meditation. I practice it in mini
sessions but I would like to set aside time for me a full hour is the goal. It is hard for me during the summer
months. I have 3 jobs, school and 2
homes to keep up. Having me time would help me keep focused and balanced so
when I’m stress the challenge does not seem so bad. But this class has showed me how to balance
my life and manage what come in. I
enjoy gardening, crocheting, sewing, baking, canning, helping friends, and being
around children. For me these are items
that I enjoy I can do them without thinking and I am able to practice the
loving kindness learned in class.
II.
Assessment:
How have you assessed your health
in each domain? How do you score you
wellness spiritually, physically, and psychologically?
My
overall health assessment is good. I
have taken on a better way of eating and I do exercise regularly. When I have a day that is packed full of stress
I usually find myself in the garden weeding.
It seems to calm and relax me faster when I can just turn off my mind
and let my hands do the work. I am a positive personality and I enjoy being
that way. I am so much more productive
that when I’m stress and negative.
In
rating I will use 1-5 grading, 1 being low and 5 being high. In regards to my spiritual wellness I would
rate a 5. I do believe in a higher
being, I meditate and I just have to look out a window to admire all that is
around me, nature, animals, beautiful sunrises and sunsets. I don’t need a church to talk to god I just
need to sit outside or where ever and I know he is with me.
My
physical wellness would be a 3 here is where I am struggling. I feel healthy and eat and exercise. It’s
just my body is not cooperating but I am determined to have the body that I in
vision at 53 year old there will be work involved to get it but it will be
worth it. My goal is to get to a 5 and I
will succeed.
My
psychological I would have to score 5.
This is where I am opened minded, caring of others, respectful and
accepting of everyone’s situation. I never
look down or disrespect others. I treat
them the way I want to be treated. I
feel that you can learn from others and by doing so you can improve you r life
and psychological health. By accepting
others differences we are accepting out own to which helps us to not feel as if
we failed.
III. Goal Development:
List at least one goal you have for
yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual.
My physical goal is to workout 30
minutes daily Monday – Friday. I have
been doing this since I started school 1 ½ yrs. I feel more energetic and
healthier. By staying on track it will
help me in succeeding the goal that I set in losing the weight and being fit.
My psychological goal is to be positive
and have compassion towards others.
Since we started the practice loving-kindness I have incorporated that
into my daily life. I practice it every
night so the next morning I am refreshed and have the loving-kindness in my
heart.
My spiritual being Catholic was a great
foundation but as I have gotten older I have learned about so many different
cultural religions. I enjoy learning
about Native American religion, and Buddhist.
I do read about them and talk to friends who practice the culture always
being aware of new cultures and accepting them and even talking away some of it
and incorporating it into my life.
IV.
Practices for personal health:
What
strategies can you implement to foster growth in each?
Some strategies I have learned are
for my physical health is I use food tracker to help keep my calories in line
and I do use journals for my exercise and a daily journal of what my day
entailed. Using my time efficiently by
making meals ahead of time helps me when time is running out. Having family and friends around when you are
struggling helps and if you falter they are there to help you up and give you
words of encouragement. I have also been
incorporating all the meditation that I learned in class this helps keeps me grounded,
focused, compassionate in my daily life.
In My spiritual life I help those
in need on a daily basis. For me that is
my way of giving back to those who may not otherwise get the help they
need. I practice meditation in my yard
so I can give the negatives of the day to mother earth and take in the positive
sun from God above. Having friends and
family around in important, you want to be able to pass on your knowledge to
those you love. For me this is done by
being that friend who is always there no matter what time or where help is need
and volunteering whenever the need arises.
My psychological is where for me it
all comes together putting in motion all that I have learned. Using meditation to calm the mind, be
focused, compassionate of others, to use the loving –kindness, to do unto
others as you want to be treated. These
are practiced daily for me they are words and actions to live by.
V.
Commitment:
How
will you assess your progress or lack of progress in the next six months? What strategies can you use to assist in
maintaining your long-term practices for health and wellness?
Commitment for me is setting goals
and working hard to be successful at them.
The goals for my weight and general health are to track my progress and
keep journaling and make sure they are updated daily. Doing meditation so I stay focused and
positive always thanking God for what I have and the day that he let me
experience. I have great friends and
family who are always here for me. We
support each other which for me let me know that we all give a part of
ourselves to others in a time of need.
I have made a bulletin board of my
goals through pictures and phrases and pictures of those dear to me. This helps me stay focused on my goals and as
I complete one another one takes its place.
By having goals and completing them and placing new goals in you are
always aware of what you have and what you are working toward.

unit 8
MeditationI believe is important no mater what yo choose to do. You are getting in touch with your inner self and discovering new levels from with in. The two tha i use most often is loving-kindness and visualzation. For me i use loving kindness daily all day. It's a modified version that I use when seeing clients. i need to be focused, energized, positive so when I am working on them I am giving all my positive energy to them to help them heal. By doing it in between clients I am shedding any negative issues from the pervious client so I am not bring them into the current client.
In the evening I use a visulation which helps me clear my mind and anything that may still be negative on me leaves. So I see my self as a tree and all the negative that may be around and in me I ask it to leave through my feet and I give it to mother earth. I then thank god the my day and ask him for positive energy to get through the next day. For me I see the sun as my positeive energy and rain which washes the negative back to the earth to be recycled. In doing meditation I have noticed my confidence level has risen and I'm more content that I have ever been. Doing this daily helps keep me focused on what I need to do to keep me healthy and happy which is the goal.

Aesclepius
Hi everyone hope all is well with you. In listening to this weeks exercise I found my self having clear and conscious thoughts and realizing that words can be harmful so taking the extra minute to make sure your words are not harsh is important. Bring kind and letting love and friendship into your heart and helping those in need is also important. At the end of this exercise I felt rejuvenated in spirit, a inner strength that helping others to gain this precious gift they too can achieve a new inner self. Helping others learn to help them selves is a gift that I share with my clients.
"One can not lead another where one has not gone himself", This is a great phrase how can we help others if we have not experienced it for ourselves. My clients deserve open and honest answers when they come to see me. And for me being physically, spitirually, and psychologically healthy is important. My job is physically demanding and I need to be as positive as possible in order to help my clients to achieve healing health. I have learned from those around me to take what they have to offer because you never know when you will need it. Our own experiences can help others too so being aware of others need is important in knowing how to help them. I would like to think that what I do for others is helping them and they are helping me too by staying healthy, continuing in my meditation, and bringing compasion, honesty, and openness to my practice.

Unit6
After reading Dacher's explanation and having the definition of working for a paycheck verses working at something you enjoy. At this time in my life I am now taking time for me and going for what I want in life. I have always had the care taker stigma attached to me. From being a paramedic to today's present job. I enjoy helping individuals and I receive the kindness that they offer. I never let a client who needs help out on a limb. I help them and even if payment is less or non-existence that is fine. I 'm here to help and will never turn my back in those in need.
Doing the exercise of Kindness and meditation I find myself more open. Letting in love feels so satisfying and doing what you love makes the difference. Being able to give back to the community and individuals makes me smile and have a inner smile that never stops. Finding this level and continuing to use it makes me a happier , selfless person, who gives love and accepts it in return.

Mind- Body-Spirit
After listening to the Subtle mind and revisiting the loving Kindness. Having the ability to just float free in awareness and not attach to the thought make you connect on a new level of inner calm.
Being a positive individual and living with a individual who is always negative has become a real challenge. With the times being hard it has become extremely hard to stay above water. When that happens we start to feel alone and the negative creeps in.
I was in that state of mind a few months ago. I wasn't sure how we were going to stay afloat. I decided to revisit what I had learned a year ago . I began to meditate to get in touch with my inner self and spirit. I also turned to faith and basically told God I was in his hands and to show me the way. We have made it so far and I have a chance to have my ideal job and the house will sell soon. Staying positive and having inner faith and strength helped me.
With the mind -body- spirit connection we give our selves the option to let go and to put our lives in the hands of the unseen while still being positive in all aspects.

Unit 4 MP3 exercise
Hi everyone,
This is a exercise I found very useful in every day life. You may not be able to use it everyday but having the knowledge of it is beneficial. After doing the exercise I found my self in a much calmer place and any negative thoughts were gone and only positive ones remained. Even on our busy lives we need to take some time for our selves especially with all the negative feeling that are out floating about. Having more positive energy and being positive in your thoughts is so important. Individuals see that you are positive and want to be around you because you make them feel good too. I enjoyed this and will continue to use it in my daily life.
